President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of former lawmaker and journalist Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
Namdas succeeds Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from the position to pursue an elective office in his home state.
A former member of the House of Representatives representing the Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as the spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He also contested in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
Before venturing fully into politics, Namdas built a career in journalism and public relations. He served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna.
In a related development, President Tinubu also appointed Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as the Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in his home state.
A former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, Obahiagbon is widely known for his legislative career and public engagements.
The President also reappointed Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji as the Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.
Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, had earlier resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in his home state.
The appointments are expected to strengthen leadership at the affected agencies and support the administration’s efforts to enhance service delivery in border community development and the power sector.
