Veteran entertainer and public figure Bose Olubo Adegeye, one of the wives of Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, popularly called King Sunny Adé, a Nigerian jùjú singer, has urged Nigerians to refrain from interfering in the personal and marital affairs of others, particularly regarding the relationship between Nollywood stars Saheed Balogun and Fathia Balogun.
Speaking on Oyinmomo’s interview programme on the lingering public interest surrounding the former couple, Adegeye stressed that only Saheed and Fathia truly understand the details and realities of their relationship.
“Two lovers understand themselves and have all the facts of their relationship. It is not good to interfere with people’s marital affairs,” Adegeye said.
She further stated that any report concerning a reconciliation between the two actors can only be confirmed by the parties involved.
“If Saheed Balogun and Fathia Balogun say that they have reconciled, you will just see me with a bell ringing on the streets of Nigeria, announcing that Fathia and Saheed have settled their marital issues and come back together as husband and wife,” she remarked humorously.
According to Adegeye, speculation from outsiders should not be taken as fact, emphasising that “it is only Saheed and Fathia that can confirm that they have settled.”
The entertainer also shared her perspective on polygamy, noting that while she does not encourage people to embrace the practice, her personal experience was unique.
“I don’t encourage people to go into polygamy because my own polygamist experience is peculiar and God made it easier for me,” she explained.
Addressing questions about her relationship with renowned musician Sunny Ade, Adegeye expressed admiration for the music icon and described him as a mentor.
“I don’t have a problem marrying Sunny Ade. Sunny Ade is my mentor,” she said.
