Facts have continued to emerge about the family of the late Michael Oyedokun, a teacher at Community High School, Esiele, in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, who was reportedly beheaded by Fulani terrorists after being abducted alongside others from schools in the area.
Oyedokun was kidnapped along with victims from Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School; and L.A. Primary School, Esiele.
According to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), the attack was carried out by members of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wa-Jihad (JAS) terrorist group.
The DHQ described the attackers as remnants of insurgent elements displaced from other parts of the country by ongoing military operations.
Contrary to widespread claims that Oyedokun had no children, findings revealed that the deceased is survived by his wife, two children, and aged parents.
Sources identified his children as Abiodun Oyedokun and Samuel Oyedokun, both of whom are currently sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
A source close to the family said, “Oyedokun has a wife and two children. His first child is Abiodun, while the second is Samuel. Both of them are currently writing WAEC examinations. It is false to say he had no children.”
The source further clarified that it was Adesiyan Adegboye, another victim of the attack, who was childless. Adegboye was laid to rest on Friday, May 22, 2026, in his hometown in Ogbomoso.
The source urged members of the public to verify information before sharing it.
