The College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (UI), today, announced the sudden demise of Dr (Mrs) Olufunke Abiodun Oluwatoba of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology.
The death of Oluwatoba, who died at 51 occurred barely a month after the College lost Professor Tal-hatu Kolapo Hamzat of the Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Clinical Sciences and UI orator from 2015 to 2020.
According to a statement from the Department signed by Professor Aderemi O. Kehinde, the deceased was Lecturer 1 and also the coordinator of the BMLS programme.
The statement said, “Dr Oluwatoba was a selfless staff who has made a significant contribution to training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She will be fondly remembered by all for her pleasant nature and willingness to help at all times.
The statement concluded, “May her soul rest in peace! We pray against such evil occurrences in our midst.
