His Holiness, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, simply called Pope Francis has lamented the high level at which Christians are being persecuted all over the world, comparing the persecutions of Christian faithfuls as bad as the one Jesus Christ passed through.
In his message posted on his twitter page, Pope urged Christians to pray for those who are suffering unjustly.
According to him, “In these days of #Lent, we’ve been witnessing the persecution that Jesus underwent and how He was judged ferociously, even though He was innocent. Let us #PrayTogether today for all those persons who suffer due to an unjust sentence because of someone had it in for them”.
He stated further, “The tragedy we are experiencing summons us to take seriously the things that are serious, and not to be caught up in those that matter less; to rediscover that life is of no use if not used to serve others. For life is measured by love”.
