The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has cast his vote at his polling unit in Agulu, Anambra in the ongoing 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Election.
Speaking after the election, Obi assured that if he becomes the nation’s president, he would not disappoint Nigerians.
His words, “Nobody is supporting me. Those who are supporting me are supporting themselves. I am supporting myself as well. We want a better Nigeria. So, when you take it that you are supporting me, you are thinking it is me. I am equally feeling the burden of that support because it is not for free. People are placing their hope in you. So, you have to be fair to God. Every day, you must pray to God to give you the grace to serve him faithfully. It is a trust. I use to be a banker. Do you know what the bank is all about? Trust. Somebody is giving you his money to keep. If anything goes wrong with it, will he give you it tomorrow? That is how the election is. When I came here to be governor, I promised that I will change this and that. It is trust, there is something people hope to get from you. This obedience is not for free, it is a trust, I cannot betray that trust, otherwise, God will punish me, possibly my children for betraying their trust.”
However, some electorate have taken to social media to announce that they have performed their civic responsibilities by voting for Obi, praying that God would not make their labour to be in vain.
