Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), led by its National Leader, Bala Mohammed, for a condolence visit over the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Makinde, in a statement on X, described Mohammed as a brother and thanked him for leading the APM delegation to commiserate with the state government and affected families over the unfortunate incident.
The governor noted that it has been about one month since the abduction occurred, assuring residents that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, is working tirelessly to secure the safe release of the victims.
According to him, the abducted children and teachers remain in the thoughts of the government, while their families continue to endure pain and uncertainty over their whereabouts.
Makinde said every available effort is being deployed to ensure the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure they are safely returned to their families who have been in anguish,” the governor stated.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to securing the release of all those abducted, stressing that authorities would not relent until they are brought back home safely.
“We will not relent until they are all back home where they belong,” he added.
