The Nigerian entertainment industry is in mourning following the passing of veteran Nollywood actor, Asa Koko. The seasoned actor succumbed to a prolonged, undisclosed illness after battling it for over two years.
News of his death was shared by actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod via his Instagram page, where he paid a heartfelt tribute to the late star.
“May his soul rest in peace. Asa Koko hmmmm. It’s a WRAP,” Afod wrote, expressing his sorrow.
Afod also posted a video from his final visit to Asa Koko’s home, where the ailing actor spoke openly about his deteriorating health. The video revealed his swollen leg, a visible sign of his prolonged struggle with illness.
During his health battle, Asa Koko—who gained widespread attention for marrying ten wives—disclosed that a state governor had visited him while he was hospitalised.
His passing has sparked an outpouring of grief from Nollywood stars and fans, with many paying tribute to his legacy, talent, and contributions to the film industry.
