A 30-year-old Timileyin Ajayi, a Kogi-born musician, based in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja has said that he did not regret beheading his 24- year-old girlfriend, Salome Salome Enejo, observing her one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corp in Abuja, for cheating on him.
Speaking to the press while being paraded by the police, the gospel singer made it known that he beheaded his partner because she was cheating on him.
According to him, he never planned to kill the deceased but he got infuriated when she found the lady sex-chatting with another man in his house when she was on a visit to him.
Speaking on how he killed his victim, he narrated that he took a knife and cutlass while his girlfriend was in the bathroom adding that he held her hand and cut her neck.
Timeyin claimed that if he had not surrendered himself to the police, he would not have been caught, stressing that it was easier for him to escape without leaving a trace that he killed the deceased.
However, the Nasarawa Police Command spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel disagreed with him that he surrendered himself, saying he was caught with the head of his girlfriend in a bag.
Nansel said the suspect was caught carrying a bag containing Enejo’s severed head in Orozo, a community very close to Abuja.
Assuring that an investigation on the matter is ongoing, he vowed that the family of the deceased will get justice at the end of the day.
