Following the defection of Agboola Ajayi, Ondo State Deputy Governor, from All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has fired all the aides to his deputy.
The first casualty of the fight to finish between the governor and his deputy is Allen Sowore, Ajayi’s Special Assistant on New Media.
It was gathered that Akeredolu will not stop at frustrating his deputy, who has vowed not to resign as the state deputy governor.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to Akeredolu, Segun Ajiboye, the aides who lost their jobs this morning are Olomu Bayo, special assistant, special duties; Olawale Mukaila, special assistant, photography, Babatope Okeowo, deputy chief press secretary; Samuel Ogunmusi, personal assistant, (deputy governor), Omotunmise Tokunbo, special assistant to the wife of the deputy governor and her personal photographer, Erifeyiwa Akinnugba.
As events are unfolding in Ondo State, there are strong indications that Akeredolu is perfecting the impeachment of his deputy.
