The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has formally obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signaling the commencement of the President’s bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The forms were presented on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Abuja by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who officially declared the process open.
Faleke, who also serves as founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, completed the purchase and collection of the forms valued at N100 million on behalf of the President.
The development marks a significant early step in the ruling party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential contest.
In a related development, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as TAYA, has also joined the race for the 2027 Ogun State governorship after obtaining the N50 million APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has outlined the timetable for the forthcoming elections.
According to the commission, presidential and National Assembly elections will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
INEC further disclosed that party primaries, including the resolution of disputes arising from them, will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026. Campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections are expected to commence on August 19, 2026, while campaigns for governorship and state assembly elections will begin on September 9, 2026.
