The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign in Oyo State has unveiled a new media and strategic communication team as part of efforts to strengthen its public engagement ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The team was constituted by the APC governorship candidate, Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, with a blend of veteran journalists, former government media aides and communication professionals.
A statement issued by the candidate’s Media Consultant, Dare Adekanmbi, and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday, September 10, 2026, listed former South-West Bureau Chief of The Nation, Bisi Oladele, as Director of Media and Publicity.
Also appointed are Kehinde Olaosebikan as Director of Strategic Communication and Bolaji Tunji as Director of Public Affairs.
The team further includes former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Chief Ademola Babalola, as Deputy Director, while the Oyo State APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, will serve as Secretary.
Oladele brings more than two decades of experience in journalism, public relations and strategic communication to the assignment. He was previously Executive Editor of Newspeak Media and Chairman of the South-West Guild of Online Publishers (SWEGOP).
The veteran journalist holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (English) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan. He is also completing a doctorate in Political Communication at Lead City University, Ibadan.
According to the statement, Oladele will collaborate with other communication professionals, including Ayotunde Olude, in driving the campaign’s media presence and publicity activities.
Olaosebikan, who has extensive experience in government communication, previously served as Chief Press Secretary to the late Oyo State Governor, Lam Adesina. His appointment is expected to bring his experience in government-media relations and strategic communication to the campaign.
Tunji, another veteran journalist, was Special Adviser to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Communication and Strategy.
The campaign said the new appointments were aimed at enhancing its media operations, strategic communication, public engagement and information management as political activities gather momentum towards the 2027 elections.
The composition of the team also underscores the campaign’s emphasis on experienced professionals as it seeks to expand its reach and effectively communicate its message to the electorate across Oyo State.
