Several prominent politicians, including former members of the House of Representatives, have begun preparations for the 2027 general election following the collection of nomination forms for House of Representatives contests under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
Documents obtained by PrimeStar News indicate that a number of party members seeking to represent various federal constituencies in the state have completed the process of collecting the required Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) forms.
Among the aspirants are former federal lawmakers, including Folake Olunloyo-Osinowo, Odebunmi Olusegun Dokun, popularly known as Bunvic, and Tolulope Akande-Sadipe.
The document, titled “Collection of INEC Form – House of Representatives, Oyo State,” contains details of the aspirants, their constituencies, contact information, dates and signatures, indicating compliance with the party’s preliminary nomination requirements.
Those listed include Adeyemi Akeem Adeniyi and Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun for the Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West Federal Constituency, while Akinola Akinlabi is seeking the APC ticket for Egbeda/Ona-Ara.
For Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency, the list features former lawmaker Odebunmi Olusegun Dokun and Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala.
Oladele Olatunbosun George is listed for Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo, while Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale is seeking the ticket for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North.
In Ibadan, Oladimeji Sarafa Olajide is listed for Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East, while Iyiola Ibrahim Olayode is seeking to represent Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West.
Businessman Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao is among those listed for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, while former House of Representatives member Folake Olunloyo-Osinowo is seeking the ticket for Ibadan South-West/Ibadan North-West.
Other aspirants include Yusuf Saheed Adejare for Kajola/Iwajowa/Itesiwaju, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe for Oluyole Federal Constituency and Wasiu Olayisoye for Lagelu/Akinyele.
The development signals the commencement of political activities within the APC in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general election, with aspirants positioning themselves for the party’s forthcoming internal selection process.
Party stakeholders are expected to conclude the necessary procedures in line with the timetable and guidelines that will be released for the election cycle.
