Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Pastor Akin Alamu, the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
Also appointed are the Vice Chairman, South West Guild of Online Publishers (SWEGOP), Dapo Falade and Ms Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa as Senior Special Assistants on Information and Orientation.
The appointment was contained in a statement signed by Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor.
Alamu, who is also a former member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, will now serve on the Elders’ Council under the Makinde administration.
The governor also appointed Mr Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing and a Board Member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation.
Similarly, Mr Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was appointed Special Adviser on Rural Development.
Other appointments approved by the governor include Mr Yinka Oladoyinbo, who was named Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation.
Hon. Seun Adelore was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Matters, while Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, a former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, was appointed Executive Assistant to the Sports Commission.
Others are Mr Ogundele Quadri, Special Assistant on Urban Development; Elder Olawale Olugbenga, JP, Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism; and Mr Ibrahim Abayomi, Executive Assistant, Works.
The letters conveying the appointments were signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, Ph.D.
Makinde charged the newly appointed officials to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State.
The appointments take immediate effect.
