With the release of the Ovia South West Local Government in the 2020 Edo State Governorship Election with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polling 12,659 votes to beat its closest rival, All Progressive Congress (APC), the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has won the election, giving him the opportunity to serve his people for the second term.
In total, PDP won in 13 local government areas while APC won five local government areas.
Obaseki has fulfilled the constitutional requirement of 2/3rd as well as majority vote to be declared winner of the election.
Currently Independent National Election Commission (INEC) is putting finishing touches to the collation of the result in other to officially announce the winner of the election.
