The Governorship Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence anniversary, urging citizens to remain hopeful and committed to building a better nation.
According to a statement signed by Yinka Oladoyinbo, Director of Communication / Spokesperson, Oyo State APM Governorship Campaign Council, commended Nigerians for their resilience and determination in the face of the country’s numerous challenges, saying citizens had continued to demonstrate an unwavering belief in the unity and oneness of Nigeria.

Adekanmbi, in an Independence Day statement, noted that the country had recorded significant achievements in the past 66 years, stressing that such accomplishments must be protected despite the difficulties currently confronting the nation.
He said, “I sincerely appreciate Nigerians for standing firm and believing in the unity of our country, refusing to allow our diversity to hinder our collective resolve to develop the great nation bequeathed to us by our founding fathers.”
The APM candidate said the contributions of youths, elders, men and women had sustained Nigeria’s continued existence, adding that the collective spirit must be nurtured to enable the country reclaim its position as the “giant of Africa.”
Adekanmbi also acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians, which he attributed to certain federal policy decisions.
He cited the rising cost of food, transportation and other basic necessities as evidence of the difficulties confronting citizens, while expressing optimism that the country could still be “reset” for the better.
“The hardship is evident in the rising cost of food, transportation, and other basic necessities. I empathize deeply with Nigerians and affirm that there is hope for a new and better Nigeria,” he said.
He urged Nigerians not to lose hope but to remain committed to building a country that would make both present and future generations proud.
Adekanmbi further called on citizens to participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process and make informed choices based on vision, competence and values, as presented by the APM.
On Oyo State, the APM governorship candidate appealed to residents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, saying the governor’s projects and programmes were helping the state maintain its status as the Pacesetter State.
“As the nation prepares for another round of elections next year, and in line with the articulated programmes of the APM, I urge the people to support and vote for all candidates of our great party to ensure the sustainability of the development Oyo State has witnessed in the last seven years,” he said.
