The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo, a former deputy governor, has declared that the party’s governorship candidate in the state is Senator Alli Sharafadeen Abiodun, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly (NASS).
Adeyemo revealed this today in Abuja shortly after presenting Alli to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
This development has sealed the fate of other aspirants, including the immediate past Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, as the party’s flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship election.
Addressing newsmen, Alake-Adeyemo said, “The name of the APC candidate for the 2027 governorship election is Senator Sharafadeen Alii.
In his brief comment, Alli said that he was confident of winning the gubernatorial race in Oyo State, pointing out that he has all it takes to be the next governor of the state.
He said, “I am very confident that by the grace of God, come May 9, 2027, APC is going to reclaim the government in Oyo State with the support of our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and our leader, who are here and at home, and our teeming supporters. We are sure of victory.”
“For me to win the election, I am banking on my competence. I have the capacity, and I am well-experienced to win the next election”, he added, noting that other aspirants have promised to support him once he emerges as the candidate in the party’s primary.
