First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women in leadership positions to intensify efforts at making life easier for other women through economic empowerment, mentorship, and personal impact.
According to Busola Kukoyi, SSA Media to the First Lady, the First Lady made this appeal on Friday when 24 Forum of Female Chief Executive Officers of Government Agencies and Organisations paid her a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Describing the CEOs as trailblasers, who have excelled in their respective fields, Senator Tinubu stressed the need for them to “replicate themselves” in younger women by mentoring and supporting them.
“Birth yourselves in others. Look for them to mentor them. Replicate yourself in other women, and that is the way we would be strong. Make yourselves unforgettable by the things you do outside your office”, she said.

The First Lady reminded the delegation of the legacies of matriarchs such as Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Margaret Ekpo, Gambo Sawaba, and Abibat Mogaji, who championed the cause of women by speaking up and uniting for progress.
She urged the forum to go beyond their achievements, adding: “We have to come together, better and stronger than them. Mentor young women, give scholarships, and take one person through life. Don’t look for the volume.”
Senator Tinubu also reiterated her call for partnerships towards the completion of the National Library, a project she said would provide critical support to indigent students in their educational pursuits.
In her remarks, the leader of the Forum and Director-General of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, assured the First Lady of the forum’s commitment to national development and support for women’s empowerment.
She said, “As a group, Your Excellency, we do not take our mandates lightly and are sincerely grateful to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for deeming us fit and proper to hold our respective offices. We commend your Renewed Hope Initiatives. Your dedication to women’s empowerment is truly inspiring.”
She pledged the forum’s solidarity with the First Lady’s vision, promising to collaborate on initiatives that foster women’s inclusion, gender equity, and national development.
The group also expressed its readiness to support President Tinubu’s administration and work for his success in the 2027 general elections.
