The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s 115 Federal Unity Colleges into centers of academic excellence, innovation, and national unity, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, has said.
Speaking on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Prof. Ahmad emphasised that the Federal Ministry of Education would continue to support teacher certification and capacity building through the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), ensuring that high educational standards are maintained across all Unity Colleges.
The Ministry also honoured outstanding Unity Colleges for their exceptional performance in national examinations, highlighting the government’s determination to strengthen teaching, learning, and the adoption of digital innovations in education nationwide.
Prof. Ahmad assured that these initiatives aim not only to improve academic outcomes but also to foster unity among students from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing the foundational vision of the Federal Unity College system.
