University of Ibadan Appoints 17 Professors Emeriti

The University of Ibadan (UI) has appointed seventeen retired professors as Professors Emeriti, in recognition of their distinguished contributions to scholarship, teaching and research across various disciplines.

The appointments confer on the retired academics the title of Emeritus Professor.

The newly appointed Professors Emeriti represent a broad range of disciplines spanning the Sciences, Medicine, Education, Social Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine and Environmental Studies.

The appointees are:

1. Professor Alexander Bababunmi Odaibo — Zoology
2. Professor Rotimi Ayodele Oderinde — Chemistry
3. Professor Matthew Shokunbi — Anatomy
4. Professor Ambrose EmilolOrun Aiyelari — Soil Resources Management
5. Professor Adenike Elizabeth Emeke — Institute of Education
6. Professor Adegoke Gbadegesin Falade — Paediatrics
7. Professor Helen Okihaofe Osinowo — Psychology
8. Professor Oladimeji Oladepo — Health Promotion and Education
9. Professor Kolawole Timothy Jaiyeoba — Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy
10. Professor Stephen Akpavie — Veterinary Pathology
11. Professor Michael Asuzu — Community Medicine
12. Professor Ezekiel Ayoola — Mathematics
13. Professor Samuel Babatunde Agbola — Urban and Regional Planning
14. Professor Eyiwumi Falaye — Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
15. Professor Olayemi Omotade — Institute of Child Health
16. Professor Bola Ayeni — Geography
17. Professor Isaac Folorunsho Adewole — Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The appointments highlight the university’s recognition of their outstanding contributions to teaching, research, mentorship and service to the University of Ibadan, as well as their enduring impact on the academic and institutional development of the university, and their contributions to their respective fields..
