The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has launched an investigation into allegations that one of its lecturers, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, sexually assaulted a 20-year-old female student.
According to reports, the alleged incident occurred on August 22, 2025, around noon, when the student was invited to the lecturer’s office. She later reported the matter to the police on August 28, claiming that she was sexually violated during the meeting.
The student was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Confirming the development, UNILAG management said the case has been formally reported to law enforcement, while the institution’s Safeguarding Centre is providing support to the affected student.
Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the University’s Communication Unit, disclosed that a panel has been set up to investigate the allegation.
“The public is assured that UNILAG is committed to conducting a full and transparent investigation and will ensure justice for all parties involved,” she said.
She further urged members of the university community to report any cases of harassment or misconduct through the institution’s established channels.
