The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo has described Emeritus Prof. Oladipo Olujumi Akinkugbe who passed away today as “a great teacher, mentor, counsellor, an academic colossus and a medical giant”.
Prof Otegbayo said, “I received with sadness the passing away of Emeritus Prof. Oladipo Olujumi Akinkugbe who departed this world earlier today. He was a former Chairman Board of Management of University College Hospital, Ibadan and the Hospital witnessed a remarkable course of progress under him.
“The late icon meant many things to many people. To me, he was a great teacher, mentor, counsellor, an academic colossus and a medical giant.
“I pray that the Lord Almighty will grant his soul repose and keep the good family that he left behind”.
