Bolaji Tunji, the Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the immediate past governor of Oyo State, has described the news circulating that Senator Ajimobi is currently receiving medical attention at a Cardiology hospital in Lagos State, over what has been diagnosed as corona virus infection as untrue.
The report further stated that Senator Ajimobi’s wife, Florence may have equally contracted the virus.
In a telephone chat, Tunji described the news as fake, which needed not to be given attention, lamenting the high rate at which fake news spread in Nigeria.
He specifically stated, “There is no truth in the news. Senator Ajimobi and his wife are not sick. Senator Ajimobi and his wife are not Coronavirus infected”.
On his Facebook page, Tunji stated, “…Fake news will never kill us in this country. Like my boss, HEK used to say, it is not everything you react to. Even people speak of the dead, not to talk about the living. It is well”.
In a story titled, “Abiola Ajimobi Allegedly Hospitalized in Lagos After Testing Positive For Coronavirus”, obtained on the Facebook page of “Omituntun Dynamic Forum UCH Chapter”, “Ajimobi was rushed to hospital in the early hours of last Tuesday after his health Conditions deteriorated in the middle of the night, causing panic in the family”.
