Deola Atoke Omoyemi George, the missing mother of two and daughter of veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George, has confirmed that she will return to Nigeria from Mali on Monday, May 19, 2025.
In a telephone chat, Deola said, “I will come home on Monday.”
Omoyemi’s ordeal began when she fell victim to human traffickers who deceived her with promises of a better life in Europe.
Faced with unbearable challenges at home, she left with hopes of supporting her mother and two children. However, upon reaching Mali, her traffickers attempted to force her into prostitution, a fate she resisted, triggering severe repercussions.

For two months, she suffered from severe health challenges, including continuous bleeding, while her captors threatened that she would never make it back to Nigeria alive.
Omoyemi’s disappearance, which lasted four years, took a significant toll on her mother, Jumoke George, whose health deteriorated due to the emotional strain.
Unable to bear the agony any longer, George reached out to a colleague and popular YouTuber, Biola Adebayo, for help in locating her daughter.
Recognising her fragile health condition, Biola rushed George to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where she received urgent medical care.

At the time of filing this report, Jumoke has been stabilised, with her blood pressure managed under medical supervision.
A medical practitioner at LUTH, suspected to be a nurse, confirmed that Jumoke is now stable but requires Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy (TFCT) for full recovery.
She stated, “She got drugs and emotional support. She has to go through trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Once her BP is normal, she will be discharged to go home.”
During Jumoke’s stay at the hospital, Deola made a video call from Mali, where she revealed she currently works as a server in a local food shop specialising in Amala.
In the emotional call, Jumoke pleaded with her daughter to return home, assuring her of unconditional love and understanding.
“Atoke, come home. Stop crying. I know you did what you did because of the condition at home. I am not angry with you. Adeola, please, come home. God understands everything,” George said tearfully. She further recounted her own struggles in Nollywood, noting that she too faced challenges because she refused to compromise her values”, Jumoke stated.
The Amala shop owner, under whom Deola works, also spoke with Jumoke during the call.
The emotional mother showered prayers and gratitude on the woman for taking care of her daughter in a foreign land.
