A man identified as Adegoke has appealed to the public for financial assistance after he was allegedly abducted by suspected Fulani kidnappers while travelling to Sokoto State.
In a distress video circulating on Facebook, Adegoke said he was kidnapped on Saturday, March 6, 2026, while on his way to Sokoto. According to him, his captors have taken him into a forest and are demanding a ransom of N100 million for his release.
Speaking in the video, Adegoke pleaded with Nigerians to assist him in raising the ransom so he could regain his freedom.
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters. My name is Adegoke. I was on my way on Saturday, March 6, 2026, to Sokoto when I was apprehended on the way. A ransom of N100 million has been set for my release,” he said.
He further appealed to members of the public to support him with any amount they could afford, stating that his captors had promised to release him once the ransom was paid.
“Please, brothers and sisters, I am begging and pleading that you guys should help me so that I can leave this place alive. These people have promised that as long as the ransom is paid, they will allow me to go,” he added.
Adegoke also directed concerned individuals to contact his brother for further information regarding the ransom payment. He provided the phone number 08062132289 for anyone willing to assist.
The incident highlights the continued security challenges on Nigerian highways, particularly in parts of the northern region where kidnappings for ransom have become increasingly frequent.
Authorities are yet to officially comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
