Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Tunji Bolaji, has confirmed that his principal is battling with critical health challenges.
Tunji, who revealed this while responding to a rumour that Ajimobi has passed on yesterday, urged everyone to pray for the ailing Senator Ajimobi.
His words, “My attention has been drawn to the rumours circulating on the social media about my principal. Kindly disregard. We, however, continue to pray for him. Thank you all for the show of concern”.
Also, Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi, the daughter of Senator Ajimobi wrote on her Twitter page that Ajimobi is not dead saying, “Thank you for all the messages but our father is still alive, alhamdulilah. When it is our time, we will all die so wait first”.
It would be recalled that few days ago, information filtered out that Senator Ajimobi collapsed and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
According to the information gathered, the governor had tested positive to Coronavirus and ever since, he is being treated for the virus and other underlying ailments.
It was equally noted that his wife, Florence had observed 14 day self isolation but came out clean of the virus.
The suspicion that Ajimobi is critically ill became real on Wednesday June 17, 2020, when he was no where to be found to resume into his new office after being appointed as Acting Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Consequence upon his inability to resume, the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Hilliard Eta has been asked to assume the office of Acting Chairman of the party pending when Ajimobi will be medically fit to assume the office.
