Nigerian actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesa, has publicly demonstrated shock about Actress Iyabo Ojo’s hostility toward him, particularly during the time allegations of rape and sexual assault were heaped on him.
Speaking recently during Talk-to-B, Omiyinka expressed confusion over what he described as a change in Iyabo Ojo’s behavior. He claimed that he once played a significant role in her early life, stating that she once entrusted her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, to his care when she was younger.
He recounted visiting the actress in her shop at Ilupeju area of Lagos, where she reportedly left her children with him temporarily while she stepped out to buy “Suya” (roasted meat). Omiyinka said the incident reflected the level of trust that once existed between them.
He emphasised that any disagreements between them should be handled privately rather than in public. He said, “If we offend one another, we should call one another and sort it out,” advocating for direct communication.
The actor also addressed allegations circulating about him, strongly denying any involvement in sexual assault. “I have never raped in my life,” he stated firmly.
Omiyinka referenced a past comedy production titled Iroyin Kumokumo, suggesting that some controversial claims linked to Iyabo Ojo stemmed from fictional or comedic content rather than reality.
He further called for an open discussion on the matter, expressing willingness to engage in a public debate with fellow actress Princess, who has also been associated with the broader controversy.
