A Big Sister Indeed
(Professor Aituaje Irene Pogoson)
In the tapestry of our lives, you wove a thread
Of love, laughter, and wisdom, forever spread
A big sister’s heart, a friend’s gentle soul
A confidant’s ear, a shoulder to make us whole
For 19 years, we walked the winding road
Together, we laughed, together we toiled
As the only two women, in a sea of men
We stood together, a bond that would not end
Through trials and triumphs, you stood as a guide
A steady presence, a love that would not subside
Your kindness was a river, flowing deep and wide
Quenching my thirst, washing my soul inside
Your warmth was a haven, a sanctuary from the storm
A place to hide, to heal, to be reborn
In your eyes, I saw a spark of light
A beacon shining bright, through the darkest night
Your spirit was a flame that burned with fierce delight
Illuminating my path, banishing the shadows of fright
You paved the way, for those who’d come after
A trailblazer, a leader, a sister, a laughter
Though death has parted us, your love remains
A legacy of kindness, that forever reigns
In my heart, your memory will stay
A big sister’s love that will never fade away.
Rest in peace, dear Big Sister, may you find,
Eternal peace and joy divine.
I will miss you, but your memory will shine..
