The Taraba State University community has been plunged into mourning following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 100-level student in her boyfriend’s residence in the Bakasi area of Jalingo.
The deceased, identified as Comfort Jimtop Oliver, a first-year Mass Communication student from Takum Local Government Area, was reportedly found around 2 p.m. in the apartment of a man identified as Emmanuel, said to be her boyfriend.
According to the spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, ASP James Lashen Saminu, items recovered from the scene included a bottle containing an unidentified chemical substance and a used condom.
While the cause of death remains unclear, police authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Efforts to reach the university’s spokesperson were unsuccessful, but staff members confirmed the incident, assuring that the institution is working closely with security agencies. They pledged that no stone would be left unturned in uncovering the truth behind Comfort’s untimely death.
