Veteran Nollywood actor, Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, who died at the age of 79 on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, was buried at about 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his residence in the Yawiri-Akob area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
He was laid to rest beside his late wife, who died in 2021, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Before his passing, Olowomojuore had spoken openly about the emotional struggles he faced since the loss of his wife.

In one of his interviews, he said, “My wife died in 2021. She just fell sick and died within a week. She suffered from something minor, lower back pain, and it turned serious. We lost her. Her death has aggravated my plight. I have been lonely, very, very lonely.”
When PrimeStar News visited the residence today, sympathisers thronged the compound, with a condolence register placed outside for visitors to sign.
One of the mourners said: “Baba Gebu was briefly ill and was taken to UCH. He was admitted and passed away while receiving a drip.”
According to the family, the eight-day Fidau prayer for the deceased will hold on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
