Eight passengers narrowly escaped death on Monday, March 23, 2026, when a commercial vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a lone accident.
The passengers, most of whom were en route to Edo State from Nasarawa, were in an ash-coloured commercial cab with registration number Benue BRT-376 AA. The accident occurred near Akwanga.
According to an eyewitness who was also a passenger, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The car subsequently somersaulted multiple times before veering off the road and into a nearby bush.
All passengers sustained minor injuries, except for one woman whose condition was described as critical. She is expected to be taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
In a video sent to PrimeStar News, residents of the area were seen assisting in turning the vehicle back onto its four tyres after the crash.
