The capital city of Oyo state was agog on Sunday as the Sons and Daughters of Balogun Ibikunle Family stormed their Ayeye compound of their lineage in Ibadan to receive two citizens of the United States of America, who traced their roots to the Family.
Oba Asa Ifatimileyin Adesoji and Oba Alaa Ogunlana Ifawole, while speaking at the family meeting held at their palace revealed that their presence was to recognise their ancestral and biological lineage.
The duo expressed happiness for the warm reception given to them by the family and assistance rendered .
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mogaji (Dr.) Abass Gbolahan, explained that the two men traced their roots to the Ibukunle family in Ibadan.
He said the entire Ibikunle family were so happy to receive them as their family members and expressed the readiness of the family to collaborate with them to further uplift the great Ibikunle family.
He said, “We are here today to formally welcome members of the Ibikunle family who are in the diaspora. They are the people from Oyo Tunji in America, they have come and traced their roots to the Ibukunle family in Ibadan, which was while we are here today, to introduce them to the entire family. The entire family was happy to receive them, and they are also here too.
