The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested and arraigned a man from Kogi State, identified as a member of the Ebira ethnic group, for allegedly killing a young man said to be in a relationship with his daughter.
The incident occurred at the suspect’s residence around the popular Corpers’ Lodge, New Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, after the victim visited his girlfriend.
According to witnesses, the father, who disapproved of the relationship, mobilised some of his siblings to attack the young man. The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from excessive bleeding.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the development, stating that the father and one accomplice have been arraigned before a magistrate court in Ado Ekiti and remanded in prison custody pending further investigations.
