The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence as a foundation for national prosperity and sustainable development.
She made the call in Kaduna during the Annual Distribution of Food Items to members of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) to mark the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Citing biblical principles, Senator Tinubu said peace and harmony remain indispensable to nation-building, urging citizens to look beyond prevailing global narratives and remain optimistic about Nigeria’s future.
“Let us all stay and make Nigeria great again. Good things are already happening in this country,” the First Lady said.
She commended the Kaduna State Government for deliberate efforts aimed at promoting religious harmony, describing the state as a model other parts of the country should emulate.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to live in peace with one another and to be our brothers’ keepers. Let us remember that true nation-building is only possible where peace and harmony prevail,” she said.
The First Lady also expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, and the First Lady of the state, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sani, for the warm reception accorded her, praising the people of Kaduna for demonstrating unity across religious and ethnic lines.
In addition, Senator Tinubu called on members of Nigeria’s creative industry to collaborate with government in driving national development, noting that their global successes position them to make even greater impact at home.
“Our stars should please come and join us in building this nation. I am available, if they want me to partner with them,” she said.
In his remarks, Governor Uba Sani described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady as leaders deeply committed to national unity, compassion and service to humanity.
According to him, the First Lady’s philanthropy stands out for its inclusiveness, cutting across religious, ethnic and regional divides.
“Her compassion knows no religious, ethnic, or regional boundaries. Muslims and Christians alike have benefited from her generosity, reinforcing the truth that service to humanity transcends all divisions,” the governor said.
He added that Senator Tinubu’s consistent support for the vulnerable and advocacy for unity exemplify the moral courage required of leadership, noting that her actions continue to inspire confidence and strengthen social cohesion across the country.
