President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing earlier management changes in the agency.
In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Dembos, who was first appointed by the President in October 2023, briefly vacated the position following the shake-up in NTA’s leadership.
With the new directive, he is expected to return and complete his three-year tenure.
Also reinstated is Ayo Adewuyi, who had been removed as Executive Director of News.
Adewuyi, appointed by Tinubu in 2024, will now continue in office until the expiration of his tenure in 2027.
The President’s directive effectively nullifies the recent appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
The reversal underscores Tinubu’s decision to maintain continuity in NTA’s leadership structure and ensure the completion of existing tenures.
