President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to Anthony Joshua and other victims of the recent accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed two lives and left others injured.
In a message, the President described the incident as a “tragic accident” and said the loss had cast a shadow over the season.
He expressed particular sympathy for those injured in the crash, praying for their quick recovery.
“I extend my deep sympathies to you following the tragic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed two precious lives and caused you injuries. This immense tragedy casts a deep shadow on this season,” Tinubu said.
The President commiserated with the families of the deceased and those directly affected, acknowledging the emotional toll of the incident.
“I sympathise with you and your family as you bear the emotional weight of this unfortunate incident,” he stated, adding that moments such as this call for mutual support and compassion among Nigerians.
Tinubu praised the resilience and courage of the victims, noting that qualities such as discipline, strength and patriotism remain a source of national pride.
The President prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and asked God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved families.
“I pray for strength, wisdom, and grace for you during this painful period. May God grant you a speedy recovery and repose to the souls of the departed,” he added.
