President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Olugbemisola Odusote as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Law School.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the appointment takes effect from January 10 and is for a four-year tenure.
Dr Odusote, who currently serves as the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, will make history as the first woman to head the institution since its establishment in 1962.
She will succeed Professor Isa Chiroma, whose tenure as Director-General expires on January 9, having served the maximum of eight years in office.
Dr Odusote is a seasoned legal academic and administrator. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988.
Her appointment comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen leadership across key national institutions.
