The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Teslim Folarin has won the Governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo State.
Folarin polled 954 votes to defeat his closet rival, former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adelabu who had 327 votes.
Other aspirants were a former commissioner for health in the state, Dr Azeez Adeduntan who scored 2 votes, Akeem Agbaje with 15 votes, Hakeem Alao had 6 votes, while Chief Adeniyi Akintola scored 0 votes.
The result was announced at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium Liberty Ibadan, venue of the primary election by the returning officer, who is also the secretary of the party’s electoral committee in the state, Dr Abdullah Guso.
It was gathered that Chief Adebayo Adelabu was absent at the venue of the exercise.
