Amidst tears and wailing, an Ibadan-based popular broadcaster, Kola Oladapo, fondly known as Mr. Nice Guy, who died yesterday, was buried today, Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Oladapo, a prominent voice on Lagelu 96.7 FM, was confirmed dead by the station’s management, who described his passing as a devastating blow to the organisation and the wider media community.
In a statement issued by the station, Lagelu FM said Oladapo was not merely a broadcaster, but “a comforting presence and a trusted companion to countless listeners who found joy and solace in his programmes.”
The statement added that the late OAP lived a life marked by passion, purpose and uncommon warmth, using radio as a platform to inform, entertain and uplift the public.
“He was a man of many gifts, who carried his greatness with humility and grace, leaving indelible memories with everyone who crossed his path,” the station said.
Lagelu FM further described him as one of its finest professionals, a colleague, brother, and true gentleman, whose voice and impact will continue to resonate on the frequencies he once commanded.
While praying for strength for his family, friends and associates, the station said the pain of his departure will be long felt.
“Though no longer with us physically, his impact, his laughter and the love he radiated will remain evergreen in our hearts. Rest on, Mr Nice Guy, your light lives on,” the statement concluded.
