Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended New Year greetings to Nigerians, calling for renewed commitment to peace, unity, empathy and collective nation-building in 2026.
In a New Year message personally signed by her, Mrs. Tinubu expressed gratitude to God for the gift of a new year and praised the resilience demonstrated by Nigerians in the face of recent national challenges.
She said the experiences of the past year had reaffirmed “the enduring spirit of Nigerians — our courage, our strength, our creativity, and our unwavering belief in a better tomorrow.”
According to her, the determination of citizens, especially women and young people working to uplift their families and communities, remains a strong source of inspiration.
Looking ahead, the First Lady urged Nigerians to prioritise the wellbeing of children, women and vulnerable members of society and to create opportunities that enable every citizen to “thrive with dignity.”
“As we embrace this New Year, let us choose peace, empathy and unity,” she said, adding that Nigerians must continue to believe in the country and invest in its future.
Reaffirming her faith in the country’s prospects, she declared: “I believe in Nigeria and we should all invest in what she can become,” while wishing the nation a Happy New Year and invoking God’s blessings on the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
