You would have marked your 59 birthday today but unknown to us mortals,God had another plan.
As we left home that fateful day nine months to your birthday and few weeks to mine, for the hospital,I never for once thought you’ll never made it back alive to our abode.
Having fed you what turned out to be your last meal on planet earth, that Monday evening I was happy that your illness didn’t take your appetite and you swallowed every bite and chew with passion.
I still recall vividly the relief I had that you’re on your way to final recovery.
I never knew that your request for me to feed you on bed was a symbolic signal of a love meal you’ll never take again.
Even as i write this,I still marvel at how our God work through Christ to call you home. You never for once doubt His healing power.
Desola, that you left me and the beautiful children you bore in your womb months to today still remains a puzzle and misery just as your passion for the family we raised together in the past 31 years will remain with us for a long time to come.
We shared Joy,love together even as you dot on me and the children with your characteristic dominance and fervor.
Indeed, I never for once thought you’ll join our maker before me. But then who I’m I to question the only “author and finisher of our faith “.
Even then,I’m still puzzled that death came at the time you did as the dislocation you had occurred on a day we were returning from a three- day Couples Retreat – a unique opportunity presented for couples at the Redemption City.
Be assured that our children, Ayo,Foyinsola,Tomisin and Idunnu oluwa, the baby of the house realy took your death as God’s purpose even as they grief at your loss. Desola, it was not a coincidence that we met four days after your 25th birthday, November 15,1991 but left three months after your 58.
It was a day you spent in God’s presence even as you increased your thirst for more knowledge of your maker.
My first Love and worthy companion, words are not enough to describe your loss and my inner feelings.
Continue to rest in the blossom of the Lord until we meet on Resurrection day.
