Professor Afolarin Olatunde Ojewole has been appointed President and Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, succeeding Professor Ademola S. Tayo.
Ojewole, a distinguished scholar of Religious Studies and Theology, specialises in Biblical Studies, Old Testament exegesis, Christian theology, hermeneutics, ethics, and church ministry.
He previously served as University Pastor and Associate Vice-President for Spiritual Life before proceeding on a leave of absence in 2018.
Renowned for both his academic depth and spiritual leadership, Professor Ojewole stands out as an influential figure among Christian scholars in Nigeria, particularly within the Babcock University community.
His contributions to theology, biblical interpretation, and discourse on social-ethical issues—such as gender relations, social justice, and spirituality in public health—underscore his role at the intersection of religion, education, and contemporary social thought.
