Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, unveiled the mascot, logo, and theme for the 15th Biennial Nigeria Police Games scheduled to hold in Asaba, Delta State, in February 2026.
The unveiling ceremony at the Peacekeeping Conference Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja, signalled a major milestone in preparations for the Games and underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s renewed commitment to hosting a world-class sporting event.
Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun described the unveiling as a proud moment for the Force, noting that it reflects the growing momentum toward Asaba 2026.
He emphasised the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and morale among officers, while strengthening the bond between the Police and the communities they serve.
“The Biennial Police Games remain a unifying platform that reinforces professionalism, excellence, and shared identity across the Force,” he said.
The IGP expressed deep appreciation to the Delta State Government, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for accepting to host the event.
He commended the State’s level of preparedness and acknowledged the commitment of the Delta Sports Commission as well as the Force Sports Planning Committee, chaired by AIG Fom Pam Joseph.
Unveiling the mascot and logo, Egbetokun noted that the mascot embodies the core values of the Nigeria Police Force: courage, unity, fitness, and excellence, on and off the field. He also announced the official theme and slogan for the Games:
According to Egbetokun, the theme of the games is Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action, while the slogan is Discipline, Dignity, and Dedication
The ceremony attracted notable dignitaries, including the Governor of Delta State, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Kingsley Emu; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, represented by Mr. Ibrahim Abdulkadir.
Also present were the President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun; Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko; directors of sports from sister security agencies; senior police officers, and members of the Force Management Team.
Assuring stakeholders of a successful event, the IGP expressed confidence that the 2026 Games would deliver an outstanding and memorable sporting experience, further strengthening unity, professionalism and the enduring spirit of service within the Nigeria Police Force.
