Oyo State policemen have arrested 10 members of an armed robbery gang at their hideout located within the Genesis Hotel area, Challenge, Ibadan.
The armed robbery suspects, who specialising in hijacking containers at gunpoint and diverting valuable goods, are Mukaila Omorayo (male, 48 years), Adekanbi Adesola (male, 39 years), Ahmed Oderinlo (male, 38 years), Samuel Omoseyin (male, 53 years), Ramon Saheed (male, 52 years), Monilola Ajayi (female, 58 years), Akanbi Bisi (female, 51 years), Wasilat Abdullahi (female, 48 years), Bolaji Tanimola (male, 51 years), and Adeola Oyesina (female, 51 years).
According to a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations, Alayande Olayinka, “A substantial cache of stolen items was recovered from the suspects, including forty (40) units of air conditioners, ten (10) washing machines, one electric motorcycle, assorted creams, seven cutting machines, fifteen packs of LED lights, twenty-five packs of furniture gum, numerous trailer spare parts, women’s hair relaxers, wigs, chin chin, as well as furniture and painters’ materials.”
According to the police, the total value of the recovered exhibits is estimated at N100million.
