The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the recent spate of killings in Plateau State, as part of a sustained crackdown on criminal networks responsible for violence in the region.
According to a statement from the Force Headquarters, police operatives attached to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have carried out a series of coordinated operations targeting criminal conspiracy, gunrunning, and illegal possession of firearms—all believed to be linked to the deadly attacks in parts of the state.
One of the suspects, identified as Abubakar Jibrin from Kalone Community in Shendam Local Government Area, was apprehended on May 3, 2025, around 4:30 PM.
Acting on credible intelligence, IRT operatives arrested Jibrin and found him in unlawful possession of prohibited firearms. A subsequent search of his residence led to the recovery of a submachine gun (SMG) rifle with an empty magazine.
Following Jibrin’s confession, further investigations led police operatives to Barkin Ladi on May 4, where they recovered two locally fabricated revolver rifles.
The arms were traced to cartridges linked to another suspect, Ismail Danjuma, who is also in custody and cooperating with the ongoing investigations into the Plateau killings.
