The Abuja-Kaduna Security Police in Nigeria have arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin identified as Umar, popularly known as Oro, who confessed to killing his victims and drinking their blood, especially when ransom was not paid.
Umar, feared across several communities, admitted during interrogation that he had murdered “at least 10 people,” boasting that he spares no one who challenges his authority.
He said proudly, “I don’t spare my victims. Anyone who dares me, I kill them. If they fail to pay ransom for any of my victims, I will personally kill them and make sure I drink their blood. All my gang members are loyal to me. No one dares question my authority. We are all in the bush.”

Police sources said the suspect and his group operated deep inside forested areas, where they ran a well-structured criminal network.
Umar and his lieutenant demonstrated their skills in stripping and reassembling rifles with ease. They manufactured the guns they use in carrying out dastardly acts.
A victim who miraculously regained his freedom, and spoke under anonymity, recounted his horrifying experience.
“They kidnapped my elder brother and demanded ₦5 million. I told them I didn’t have that much, so we negotiated ₦350,000. They directed me to bring the money to them in the bush,” he said.
“When I got there, Umar carried me on his motorcycle. After meeting the other gang members, they told me I had been kidnapped, too. He collected the money I brought, but refused to release my brother. Instead, he demanded ₦5 million for my own freedom. I pleaded with him, and miraculously, he released me”, he explained.
Umar also confirmed that numerous criminal gangs operate within the vast forests stretching from Abuja to Kaduna, engaging in kidnapping, armed robbery, and weapon fabrication.
Police authorities described his arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry and kidnapping in the region. The suspect, according to officials, will be charged to court.
