The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned in the strongest terms the recent attack on the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, where bandits killed the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducted 25 students.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP described the incident as part of a disturbing rise in insecurity across Nigeria, accusing the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government of prioritising politicisation over the protection of citizens.
The party urged the federal government to “accept responsibility and deal decisively with the issues,” warning that continued inaction would only exacerbate the insecurity that Nigerians face daily.
The PDP extended condolences to the family of the slain Vice Principal, the parents of the abducted students, school staff and management, and the government of Kebbi State.
Ememobong highlighted that the Maga School attack is not an isolated case, noting recent abductions in Nasarawa, Plateau, Kano, and Katsina States.
The party called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to devote urgent attention and resources to safeguarding lives and property, asking rhetorically, “Or do we want a foreign country to threaten the government on this?”
The statement concluded with a plea: “Let the killings stop!”
