The Oyo State Government has commenced the second phase of Covid-19 exercise at the 120 designated posts across the 33 local government areas in the state.
Also, staff and family members of the University of Ibadan (UI), are currently being vaccinated.
The exercise will cover those who are receiving second or first dose.
According to a statement signed by the executive Secretary, Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr M. B. Olatunji, the eligible individuals for the vaccination are: people aged 18 years and older, healthcare workers and other frontline workers who are at a high risk of exposure, senior Citizens with or without underlying health conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension etc and those with previous records of Covid-19 infection but have now recovered.
The state government assured, “All brands of vaccines including MODERNA Vaccine are safe and effective”, adding that vaccination is free.
In University of Ibadan, the exercise will run from Monday August 23, 2021 to Thursday September 17, 2021.
Those scheduled to be vaccinated today are staff and family members of the faculties of Arts, Education Economics and Management Sciences and Social Sciences will be vaccinated today.
