Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State said that, though his administration will end in 2027, his Omitutun agenda would endure beyond his administration.

Speaking on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Victory International Church for a thanksgiving service, where he described 2026 as a pivotal year for the state and Nigeria, Makinde noted that the ideals and developmental philosophy of Omituntun would continue to guide governance in Oyo State, ensuring sustained progress and stability for the people.

The Governor said his administration was approaching the final phase of its tenure and therefore sought the prayers and continued support of the church to successfully round off its mandate.
He pointed out that the year 2026 would be critical in sharing the future direction of the state and the country, stressing the importance of spiritual backing as the government works towards consolidating its achievements.

Governor Makinde also assured the residents of Elebu and those residing around the BCJ-Railway-Gbekuba-NIHORT Junction that both roads will be fixed before the end of his tenure.
