As the world commemorates World Food Day 2025, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for strengthened collaboration among citizens and stakeholders to achieve a hunger-free nation.
In her message to mark the day, themed “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future,” Mrs. Tinubu emphasised that food security remains a shared responsibility that demands collective effort and sustainable practices.
“The future we want, one free from hunger and malnutrition, is within our reach, but it requires every one of us to work together to transform our food systems,” she stated.
The First Lady urged Nigerians to embrace partnerships that encourage sustainable agriculture, minimize food waste, and guarantee access to nutritious and affordable food for all families.
“Let us commit to join hands today to build a nation where everyone is involved in the process of food production for a better, healthier, and more prosperous future,” she added.
World Food Day is observed annually on October 16 to promote awareness of global hunger and encourage action toward achieving food security and nutrition for all.
